FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
KEY CONSULTANTS TO BE HOSTED IN FOX CITIES AS A PART OF JOB CREATION EFFORTS
Underscoring the old adage “seeing is believing,” the Fox Cities Regional Partnership will play host to eight national site selection consultants this coming weekend. “We know that we have a compelling story to tell, and recognize that we enhance that story by affording the opportunity to have consultants see our area for themselves,” said Larry Burkhardt, Executive Vice President of the Fox Cities Regional Partnership. The Partnership is an affiliate of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, and provides economic development services throughout Outagamie, Calumet and the northern portion of Winnebago counties. The mission of the partnership is to enhance the local economy, expand economic opportunity and improve the quality of life for local residents by supporting the expansion of the local primary job base.
Site selection consultants are professionals who provide services to employers that are looking to either expand their company into new markets, or relocate their existing company and its employment base. As such, they serve as gatekeepers to projects that can bring hundreds of new jobs to an area. Success in economic development includes building an awareness of a region with these consultants. “We reached out to some of the top professionals in the country, and are quite pleased that although they receive many similar invitations each month, eight have eagerly accepted our invitation to come and experience the Fox Cities,” stated Shannon Full, Fox Cities Chamber President/CEO.
Site selectors will have the opportunity to tour the area, meet with leaders from local business, government, education and non-profits. During their time in the area, they will hear from local representatives who will explain our area’s utilities, real estate, education, healthcare, industry, community amenities and more.
The final event will occur on Monday, October 21 at 3:00 pm, when the site selectors will share their observations and recommendations at the conclusion of their visit. This de-brief session promises to be a valuable opportunity for local residents to gain insights into our area’s competitive stance for job growth. The public is invited to attend the session, which will be held at the Platinum Flight Center, N259 Ares Dr., located at the Outagamie County Regional Airport.
