FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FOX CITIES REGIONAL PARTNERSHIP TO HOST SITE SELECTORS AS KEY PIECE TO MARKETING OUTREACH
The Fox Cities Regional Partnership, an affiliate of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, will bring ten national site selection consultants to the Fox Cities region for a three day visit—a familiarization tour, October 19—21. The purpose of the tour is to directly market the region to key consultants who are unfamiliar with what the area offers as a place to do business.
Site selection consultants assist companies interested in either establishing expansion facilities or relocating existing operations in a new market area. Through a process that involves extensive research, the role of the consultant is to identify regions and communities that may fit a company’s expressed needs for the new operations. Such needs will include the availability and quality of the labor force, taxes and regulations, transportation and utilities, education and crime, available economic incentives and many more. In many cases, site selectors will gather and assess detailed data from dozens of communities in order to ultimately recommend the best choice for their client.
“Site selectors play a critical role in today’s practice of economic development. If they are not aware of the attributes of a given region, then it will not receive consideration as a possible location for job growth projects. We are very excited to have ten consultants from various locations in the country join us for a three-day visit to learn first-hand about the Fox Cities,” said Larry Burkhardt, Executive Vice President of the Fox Cities Regional Partnership.
“We will be involving our leaders and partners in providing an overview of locating a business in the Fox Cities, including briefings on transportation, education, commercial real estate, health care, general business climate and more,” stated Shannon Full, President/CEO of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce.
Members of the public are invited to a de-brief session, at which the ten site selectors will summarize their observations and impressions of our region relative to economic development. The de-brief will be held 3:00 on Monday, October 21 at the Platinum Flight Center, located on the Outagamie County Regional Airport property, at W6400 Challenger Dr., Appleton.
